Approximately 110 under five year olds attend the child care project daily. They participate in lessons and games and are given a bowl of soya porridge. This is a nutritious meal which, for the majority, will be their only meal of the day. Most of these children are AIDs orphans and are being cared for by their older siblings who are only teenagers themselves.
FEPAC provided the monthly costs of running this facility from January 2009 until June 2017 after which poultry rearing and crop garden sustainability projects were introduced. The local CBO was unable to manage their mutual obligations to these projects and support was terminated in February 2018.
