In line with Paladin Energy’s policies and procedures, Langer Heinrich Uranium (Pty) Ltd (LHUPL) continued to support the Government of Namibia in its national development endeavours to develop skilled, talented, ambitious and productive citizens, focusing on its immediate operation impact areas within the Erongo region as a priority, while also investing in other regions of Namibia. LHUPL does this by playing an active and leading role in the positive interface between the mining industry and the community in Namibia, through its support to the local Chamber of Mines and Energy and the Chamber’s Uranium Association, as well as through its own social investment programmes.
LHUPL recognises its social responsibility and has a strong commitment to, in consultation with various stakeholder groups, supporting activities which benefit local communities in line with Namibia’s National Development Plans and the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. Its core Community Investments focus areas are Education and Skills Development; the promotion of healthy lifestyles through Sports Development and Food Security; as well as the promotion of sustainable Environmental practices. The primary target group of all LHUPL’s community investments is the Namibian Youth.
